子囊殼埋在子座膨大部分。子囊孢子線形,，有橫隔,，常斷裂。常見于我國西藏,、青海,、四川、云南等高寒地帶,，含蟲草酸（CH12O6）,。蟲草為著名補藥，有益腎補精,，止血化瘀作用,。赤霉屬（Gib-berella）植物寄生病菌，菌絲蔓延于宿主體內(nèi),，并在宿主表面產(chǎn)生大量白色或粉紅色的分生孢子，受害部位呈紅色,，故名赤霉,。無性過程在營養(yǎng)菌絲*形成多級雙叉分枝的分生孢子梗，梗上產(chǎn)生大小兩種分生孢子,。大孢子鐮刀形,，有3～5個隔膜，單生或叢生在梗頂端,；小孢子卵圓形,，無隔膜或有一個隔膜,。分生孢子萌發(fā)形成新的菌絲體。因其產(chǎn)生鐮刀形的分生孢子而隸屬半知菌亞門,，鐮孢屬（Fusarium）,。有性繁殖產(chǎn)生子囊殼。此屬中的水稻惡苗病菌（G.fujikuroi）能促使稻苗瘋長,，其代謝產(chǎn)物赤霉素（俗稱“九二○”）,，是一種植物生激素。脈孢菌屬（Neurospora）俗稱鏈孢霉,、紅色面包霉,。因子囊孢子表面有縱行花紋猶如葉脈而得名。

Gib-berella is a plant parasitic fungus that spreads in the host and produces a large amount of white or pink conidia on the host's surface. The affected part is red, hence the name Gibberella. The anamorphic process forms multi-level bifurcated conidiophores at the tip of the vegetative mycelium, producing two sizes of conidia on the stem. Megasporidium falcate, with 3 to 5 diaphragms, solitary or clustered at the apex of the stem; microspores ovoid, without a diaphragm or with a diaphragm. Conidia germinate to form new mycelia. Because it produces sickle-shaped conidiospores, it belongs to the subgenus Fungi, Fusarium. Sexual reproduction produces ascostic shells. G.fujikuroi, a rice bacillus in this genus, can promote the growth of rice seedlings. Its metabolite, gibberellin (commonly known as “90%”), is a plant hormone. The genus Neurospora is commonly known as Neurospora sp. Factors on the surface of the capsular spores have a longitudinal pattern that resembles a vein.
