瘦素(Leptin)是由ob基因編碼,、在脂肪組織中生成的一種脂肪代謝調(diào)控產(chǎn)物,，在代謝和調(diào)控體重等方面發(fā)揮重要作用,。它通過下丘腦中的瘦素受體發(fā)出信號,，降低食欲，增加能量消耗,。在外周組織中,，瘦素能拮抗胰島素信號傳導(dǎo)，增加脂肪酸氧化，減少胰島β細胞的胰島素分泌,，并促進生育,。它在脂肪細胞中的表達可以被其他脂肪因子如IL-6（刺激）和TNF-α（抑制）以旁分泌方式調(diào)節(jié)。瘦素缺乏的小鼠表現(xiàn)出嚴重的胰島素抵抗,、肥胖和生育能力下降,，所有這些都可以通過外源性瘦素給藥而逆轉(zhuǎn)。
